Hi Dan, thanks for your interest in the program. Your best bet would be to connect with the Spirit of B.C. Community Committees in both Castlegar and Cranbrook - they're responsible for pulling the videos together. You can use the search function on the Spirit of BC website to find the right contacts.
Cheers,

I'm a videographer located in the East and West Kootenay region. This sounds like a project we would be interested in being a part of. How do we find out who the contact people are in Castlegar and Cranbrook to see if we can be involved?

Hi Sue, thanks for your post. What I suggest is that you contact the Kamloops 2010 Spirit of BC Community Committee, which is coordinating video production for your region of the province. Perhaps they can put your footage to use. I'll send you an email with contact info for the committee.

Cheers,
kate

We already have a wonderful video of our area which takes in the Shuswap Lakes and surrounding country side adjacent to our quaint little Village of Chase. We would be thrilled to have our video shown and we wouldn't need the grant money. Please let us know if we can have our video shown even if we don't qualify for a grant. This is a great opportunity for our Province to shine and what better place to greet the people but at the Vancouver Airport.

Good Morning,
I am the manager of Shuswap Tourism and work for the Columbia Shuswap Regional District. Our region of BC is from just outside of Chase to the Alberta border. We cover 30,107 square kilometers of BC. I also am disappointed that we were not notified of this initiative as it leaves out a large spectacular part of BC. The Shuswap/Columbia region is only a one hour drive from Kelowna and Kamloops and these communities are both connections to tourists visiting our region. We have many visitors from Asia, Europe, Australia visiting our region each year that fly into Vancouver with connections to Kelowna and Kamloops. I appreciate that you only have funding for 15 communities but in the future it would be great if all regions of BC could be represented. Thank you Robyn Cyr

Thanks, Nora. The 15 communities were selected because each has direct flights to and from YVR. We also tried to pick communities across the province so that different regions were represented - e.g. Northern B.C., Interior, Vancouver Island, etc. We would have loved to extend the program to many more communities but for a first-time program, we thought 15 communities was a good start.
