The mittens are ON and the excitement is growing but we have not seen the anticipated demand for visitor accommodations. It has been said that in previous games visitors waited for the last minute prices for traveling and accommodation. For a city as central and important to the games as Richmond, with its beautiful airport, skytrain at the door (envy for other cities), plenty of hotel and other forms of accommodation space still sits vacant and prices are getting lower.
Perhaps we still have to make more noice out there. Get the attention of prospect visitors, sending the message that just being here in Vancouver is, and always will be, an exciting experience.
