FAQ
Where does the name YVR come from?
YVR is aviation lingo for Vancouver International Airport. All the world’s international airports have three-letter designators, as established by the International Air Transport Association. Most Canadian airports begin with the letter Y. Any guesses of which airport YXY is?
…Whitehorse you say? You are correct!
What’s the difference between YVR and Vancouver Airport Authority?
YVR is the International Airport Transportation code for Vancouver International Airport. Vancouver Airport Authority is the group of dedicated (and might I add very fun) people who manage and operate Vancouver International Airport.
Where can I get information on flight arrivals and departures?
Vancouver International Airport’s website www.yvr.ca has all the latest info on flights under the flight information link on the left side of the homepage. Whether you’re flying to somewhere exotic (yes, Winnipeg counts) or picking up a friend, it’s a good idea to check a flight’s status before you head out of the house.
I have a question for YVR. Who should I call?
We have a whole host of ways to drop us a line and we try our best to answer questions in a timely manner. You can ask us your questions by phone through our customer care line at 604-207-7077. Or you can ask us online by submitting your question in our contact us section of www.yvr.ca. Our address for snail mail is P.O. Box 23750, Airport Postal Outlet, Richmond, B.C., V7B 1Y7.
What’s the purpose of this site if YVR already has a website?
YVRConnections.com is a space for you to chat with us and vice versa about what’s happening here in the lead up to 2010. YVR’s corporate website has travel details including flights, parking, maps, shops, restaurants as well as corporate information about Vancouver Airport Authority.
